Signed in and out of iCloud, now Sims4 does not want to read my previous files?

Hi everyone,

So, yesterday, I signed out of iCloud on my MacBook Pro due to issues with my password. I signed back in and tried playing the Sims 4, but the entire game has reset to its original state. My saved files, CC and everything else is gone. My EA folder is still present in my documents and iCloud. I have tried renaming the files and it still does not register within the game. I have also tried starting a new playthrough in order to create a new save folder in my documents, but it does not appear. I am trying not to panic, but I have tried every online source and nothing seems to work. I cannot get the game to read my previous files! Does anyone have a solution?

Thank you.

    Plenty then 🙂

You should disable iCloud and see if you can get the game to properly access the Sims 4 folder in the default location - Users⁩ ▸ ⁨[your user account] ▸ ⁨Documents⁩ ▸ ⁨Electronic Arts⁩ ▸ ⁨The Sims 4⁩. Once it's correctly loading your saves from there we can then see if we can get the iCloud configuration working again although the local location is always preferable.

Hey, I just tried to disable iCloud, but the Sims4 is still not recognising my file. When I open the game, it keeps showing the latest save I made (without CC). I am unsure where the game is locating this data from as I cannot find it in my Mac's files? The only EA file I can find is the original one with all my CC and saves.

@Bluebellflora Weird. It tells me the file name is the one in my original folder, but that file is from May 2019? I cannot find any other files with that name. It still won't recognise the original file ☹️
