sims 3 not installed but still saying play on origin

A few months ago I installed The Sims 3 from my mac to free up space for Sims 4. Since then I have decided to reinstall but instead of there being an install option on origin it instead says play. I ...

Hi @nham23,

There might be some files left in your computer from a previous installation of the game. In this case, I would try to make a manual uninstallation of The Sims 3.

A fellow simmer, Bluebellflora, has made a guide on how to uninstall and reinstall The Sims 3 on Mac, you might want to take a look 😉

I've followed those steps and it still shows the base game and expansion packs as installed and ready to play. There is no trace of the game or any data relating to it left on my system. I honestly have done everything I could and nothing has worked.

    Thanks for trying that. This is definitely very weird. Could you try to install Origin with a different Mac user?
