Sims 3 won’t work on Mac (says no disc)

I’ve tried to play the sims 3 for the first time in a a few years today and it says insert the ambitions expansions pack disc but the disc is already inserted. I’ve tried reinstalling the game and also tried installing origins and running the game through that and it still didn’t work. Please help.
