it didn't work, have you got any other advice?
@francescaalavin You've tried most of the typical steps already. I can only think of a couple more things. First, run the Origin reset tool for macs, and restart your computer. Before trying to play, make sure Origin in-game is still disabled, since the reset may reenable it.

If that doesn't help, drag your entire TS4 game folder out of Documents and onto your desktop, in case it contains a corrupt file. If the game launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content, and when you confirm that you can play in that folder, you can try moving the contents of your Saves and Tray folders into it from your old TS4 game folder.
The other step to try is a Super Repair. Here are Bluebellflora's instructions:
Hopefully, one of these steps helps you. But if you still can't play, please post your mac's specs here, as described in the link below, and list the packs you have installed. A number of mac users have reported the same issue in the last couple of weeks, and we're gathering information on the types of computers that are affected. We'll keep everyone updated, but in the meantime, more info would be very helpful.
Oh, and please also mention if you have any third-party antivirus or firewall, or any program like Mackeeper that's supposed to organize your files. If you're not sure, you can try booting your computer into safe mode: hold down the shift key as soon as you hit restart, and don't release it until you see the login window. This should disable all third-party apps. If you can play in safe mode, slow as it may be, that means some other app is interfering with TS4. You can leave safe mode by rebooting the normal way.

I have the exact same problem and I tried all the solutions given, other than the TS4 one because my Mac told me I would no longer have the Sims 4 on my iCloud and I need it to stay there, and none of them solved the issue. I have tried to contact customer support but they don't seem to be responding. Does anyone know how I could solve this issue?

You need to try a new clean Sims 4 folder to figure out what could be causing the problem. If you use CC/Mods there’s a pretty good chance one or more items could be the culprit.- 3 years ago
Okay, so I deleted all my saves and mods and uninstalled then reinstalled the game. After which I quit Origin and tried to open the game via Finder. This time it loaded for a while before taking me back to Origin again. However, I did make a bit of an observation, in my Sims 4 folder there is an txt document labeled, "LastCrash.txt". Every time my game crashes the time of creation for the document updates to the current time. I tried reading the document but its all code. I'm not sure what to do.
