Sims 4 crashes on Mac on Startup

I just got my game and every time I open it, everything on the desktop enlarges (in size), and then the swirly rainbow loading thing happens without the game launching. When I quit out of it the size of everything returns to normal.

Specs:

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017)

2.8 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Macintosh HD

Radeon Pro 555 2 GB

Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and open the Options.ini file. Scroll down to find fullscreen and change the 1 to a 0. Your game should now open in windowed mode which will hopefully fix the issue.

Go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and open the Options.ini file. Scroll down to find fullscreen and change the 1 to a 0. Your game should now open in windowed mode which will hopefully fix the issue.

As you have opened another thread asking for help with a slow game, I guess @Bluebellflora's suggestion helped open the game. 🙂

My sims graphics keep acting up and then the game freezes and crashes. Any solutions?

Hi, when you said scroll down and change to fullscreen, where could I find those? I have opened Optionini file and it stays in "get info" screen

Right click and open with TextEdit if it doesn't automatically open when you double click on it.

Thank you. Btw, how do we restore the saved game from before we created new folder on the desktop? My game crashes before, then I drag and create new folder on my desktop. But when I launch it, the saved game wasn’t there anymore.
