I'm having the same problem. It just won't stop loading. I turned off my computer to get out of it and then reopened and repaired. But its still not working. I don't have any mods CC or anything and never have, I don't even use cheats.
Can you please try this simple troubleshooting step https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163

Than You for answering. When it comes to computers I can't walk and chew gum at the same time. I don't know how to do any of that stuff. I clicked on help from Origin and they called. They just told me to do a bunch of stuff I didn't know how to do. I went back after trying and asked if I could just throw away the whole game and start over as if I just bought it. I lose all of my saves but was willing if I could fix the issues. But its still doing it. So I went online to see if anyone else was having the same problem and the answer was yes, a lot. So I contacted them again and told them it's still not working and that A LOT of others we're having the same problem. He put me on hold and came back and said that I was right, that it is a widely reported problem. And they we're looking into it. And that I would just have to wait it out and check to see when its fixed. This is so upsetting. I am a widow who lives alone, I don't drive and on top of that the covid virus. So I pretty much never leave the house except for food and doctor appts. Sims 4 is the only game I have that still works after the big change from 32 bit to 64 bit or whatever it's called. I had to send my computer to apple for 7 days for a battery exchange. I was so bored in that time I read 12 books.

The step I linked to is very simple - In your Documents folder there will be an Electronic Arts folder. In the Electronic Arts folder there will be a Sims 4 folder. This Sims 4 folder contains all your saves and other data unique to your game such as saved items to the Library in-game, screenshots, CC and Mods if you use them, your in-game graphics settings and other stuff.
Click and drag the Sims 4 folder to your desktop then try to launch your game. What happens?
