Thanks. Have you launched the game between the first Terminal search and the second? There is now an Electronics Arts > The Sims 4 folder in your Documents folder. Apart from that, there is no other Sims 4 folder containing your saves etc. on your Mac.
When you say you can't play the saves, maybe they have filenames which the game can't load? Could you attach a screenshot of the contents of your saves folder?

- @Bluebellflora I've just opened the game and now everything's back to normal, thanks for the help. I'm still a little bewildered though because I never moved the folder... but the terminal search fixed whatever was going on, so thanks 🙂

Great! The Terminal search wouldn't have fixed anything, just coincidence 🙂 It's literally just a search, it doesn't do anything. - @Bluebellflora Hmm how peculiar. Thanks anyway 🙂
