Sims 4 game file replaced

Hey! So I accidentally replaced an old sims 4 folder with 3 generations of sims with a new folder in an attempt to fix the game lagging. Now I backed up some of my save files to iCloud well before this but when I put the save files in the game none of the old stuff shows up. Is there ANYWAY I can get my old sims game back? I don’t have it backed up on time machine & I’m using a MacBook Pro. Please, please help!

I've moved your post over here to the Mac forum 🙂

What did you do with the old Sims 4 folder you replaced? Did you trash it? Or choose the replace option because it had the same file name?

Thank you! I replaced it because it had the same name 😭

Oh no!!!! Without any kind of backup, either to external drive or iCloud, there is no way you will be able to recover them. Have you backed up at some point in the past that you can remember?

Ya so I did mention that I backed it up prior to this to iCloud but when I add those backed up files to my game nothing happens.

Which exact files are you adding to where? Could you move one of the backed up files over now, as if you wanted to play the save. Once you've moved the save file please click on it once to highlight then go to File > Get Info in the menu bar. In the pop up window go to General > Where and copy and paste the file path into a post here.
