Sims 4 have to click multiple times in-game

I am having this problem too after updating my Mac. , I have only just gone on the sims and I just noticed it and found this thread. Is anyone else also having problems when opening the game? When I open the game from origin it struggles to open and holds a black screen for a long time and something when i go into the game it doesn’t let me click on anything I have to click lots of times for it to work!

  • @eviebaker96  Try disabling Origin in-game.  If that doesn't work, or you want Origin active whil you're playing, you can run the Origin reset tool for macs.

It might also help to drag your TS4 folder out of Documents and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game again, a fresh, clean folder will spawn with no content.  If you can play in this folder for a bit without problems, you can start moving your saves and other content from your old folder to the new one.  If the game stops working again, you'll know that whatever you just moved over was causing your issues.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried this but it still isn’t running properly when opening!

I moved your post out of the CAS thread you posted in as that issue is very specific and not related to your clicking issue and black screen. I edited the title to reflect this but please do change it if you're not happy with it. This isn't something I would normally do but because that CAS issue is very limited and EA are looking into it, it's more helpful to keep it on topic 🙂

Can you please repair the game then see if that fixes the issue? If it doesn't, and moving out the entire Sims 4 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts didn't help, please create a new user account on your Mac and see if playing in that account makes a difference.

Thanks! I do have the CAS problem from that thread too btw.

i have tried creating a new user, it hasn’t seemed to have made a difference.

@eviebaker96You could uninstall and reinstall TS4 itself, and maybe Origin too, just to be thorough.  (Note that with Origin, you'll also need to find and delete some files.)  Then try playing with Origin disabled in-game.

If this doesn't help, could you please post your mac's specs, along with a list of everything you've tried so far to solve this problem?  That way, any further advice can be tailored to your particular computer.
