Sims 4 Makes Mac Extremely Hot
Hi guys.
I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this but I figured I’d try. I just got a brand new 2020 MacBook Pro a week ago. The reason I got a Pro rather than an Air was to play sims.
I downloaded sims 4 and attempted to play it this morning. The game made my MacBook basically overheat. It became extremely hot, hot enough to burn my hand if I press it against the back, and the fans sound like a jet engine. I lowered my settings and this did not help the issue. I also have been playing on a flat surface.
Can I prevent this? Is this expected when playing sims 4 on a Mac? Does everyone experience this? Please help ☹️

Yes, this is the trade off for those beautiful thin designs. Make sure you have the Mac elevated so air can circulate underneath. You could get a cooling pad or something similar to put it on. If the room temperature is high then your Mac will struggle to cool itself as well.
