Sims 4 Missing Items

My sims has been wonky and I have tried so many things to try to fix it but it is starting to make me discouraged so if any of you could help me or dm me please let me know!
  • my sims homepage is blank (where all the updates and news are)
  • my build/buy items are not showing up but my create-a-sim items are
  • when I exit the fullscreen to go back to my main screen the loading mouse shows up and indefinitely loads
  • I play on a MacBook air but it has never been a problem before
  • I have lots of mods and cc but keep it majority up to date

    Right click the game in Origin and repair it.

    It only needs one piece of outdated CC to break your game so it ALL needs to be updated and compatible, not just the majority. After repairing, move the Mods folder to the desktop and trash the localthumbcache.packge file in your Sims 4 folder. Now launch the game free of all CC/Mods - how is it?

    That worked and everything is as normal!!! Thank you so much,

    on the other hand I hate playing without mods and they are pretty disorganized, is there any way for me to add it in and scan or find the broken ones?

    Yep. It can take a while but is worth doing properly.

    Move your CC back in in batches, loading the game after each batch to see if it still works. When it stops working you know there is dodgy CC in that last batch. Move out that batch and test each piece one by one until your game stops working again. It's laborious but the only way to check all your CC.
