sims 4 not responding or launching on mac

hi, 

i play the sims like every day and usually never run into any problems but a few days ago the game just stopped launching entirely. it won't open and i can only close it by force quitting. i removed mods and the game will launch, but it gets stuck on the loading screen forever and my computer still says its not responding. I've also tried repairing the game multiple times. please help!!!
