Sims 4 Saving Glitch

For the past month, I've tried making two new sims. Each time, when I'm done making them and am trying to move them onto a plot, it gets stuck on a loading screen, where it saves my sim a thousand times and never moves on to being able to move them into a town. Then when I force quit the game and reopen it, in my "saved games" the sim is saved literally a thousand times. So right now i have two sims that are saved a thousand times. This amount of saved games makes everything super laggy. My other households that I made before this still open (it just takes forever), but anytime i try to make a new household, this happens. How do i fix this, and how do i mass delete all of these saved games? 

I hope this makes sense, also Im using a macbook air, with Catalina 10.15.3. I have a systems update i haven't installed yet.
