Sims 4 stuck on Finzalizing when attempting to install to hard drive

Hi, I recently bought an external hard drive to play sims 4 as my mac doesn't have enough storage to keep keep the game and other files I need. I have been using several threads for the last couple of days but seem to be confusing myself over and over, so I will explain my current situation and hopefully, you can help me.

I have connected my WD Elements hard drive successfully and seem to have created the volume. I deleted Sims 4 from my mac and have deleted and redownloaded Origin, Origin is now primarily on my mac (never put it on the hard drive). I have set the folder on origin to install my games onto the hard drive and not my mac. I am currently installing Sims 4 however it is stuck on 'Finalizing' and there is also an extra tab that says 'Verifying ''The Sims 4''..' with a bar that is not moving. 

I had a few problems with my external hard drive earlier so I decided to completely remove the sims game and restart the process, I have enabled it so I can see the hidden files. Now I have restarted the installation process I will provide screenshots of everything I have described above. If you need anything else please let me know.. I'm not sure what else to try.
