Here it is
I do have an older mac and software so it may look a tiny bit off
Beyond that, "game stuff" is on my desktop.
and the backup sims 4 folder I made, is on the desktop outside of the folders.
I'm sorry but you still don't have the path bar enabled:
My screenshot shows the exact file path your game uses to read your user data. Any variation and the game does not know it exists. That Electronic Arts folder you have in "game stuff" is not loading in the game so whatever changes you make to this folder is irrelevant and has no bearing on your game.

Sadly i dont think i have a path bar. I tried following tutorials to enable it, but It seems like this version/model doesnt have one. I clicked around for a good 15-20 minutes

It’s been in macOS ever since I can remember which is going back a very long way.
Click on the Mods folder once to select it
Click on Finder in the Dock
Click on View > Show Path bar in the menu bar at the top of the desktop - 1 year ago
Ah, I found it, thank you!!

Update:
I updated the game and still nothing unfourtunatly. So I dont think its an update issue and that can be ruled out.

See that file path? It clearly shows you have your Sims 4 user data stored in a place the game won't find it. Your Sims 4 folder needs to be directly in Documents > Electronic Arts. Move that Electronic Arts folder into your Documents folder. - 1 year ago
