sims 4 wont even launch on Mac

My game will not open I have tried almost everything. I started with removing recently added/updated mods from the folder then deleting half of that to removing completely. I have attempted repairing...

    I did all of those things multiple times, nothing worked until I restored my MacBook Pro to factory settings, set up as new and downloaded the BG first and that's when it finally fully opened.
