Sims 4 won't open after installing it on external Harddrive

I recently got an external harddrive because I don't really have any storage left on my macbook pro. I then tried to move sims 4 on to it, which didn't work. So I redownloaded it directly onto the ha...

    ☹️ Is there anything else important on the drive? If so back it up somewhere, reformat the drive as APFS in Disk Utility then re-download the game. Start with the base game only so make sure you have automatic updates off in EA App. Once the base game is downloaded launch the game and see if it works.

    @Bluebellflora it workedddd!!!! thank youuu! I reformated the drive and then I downloaded Sims 4 onto my computer and then copied it to the HD and now it works
