@JCPete As
@holger1405 notes, with the release of Catalina Apple has mad eit more explicite for applications to access potentially sensitive areas of your file system. Origin must now explicitly be granted access to "the full file system" because it installs programs in the user's local Applications folder (~/Applications/) and The Sims 4 requires access to the Documents folder because it stores the game state inside the Electronic Arts folder within your Documents folder (~/Documents/Electronic Arts/). If you deny either of these requests then the applications will be unable to work correctly.
To grant access after you have already denied it you should go to your System preferences, then to Security & Privacy, then to the Privacy tab. Scroll down the list of options on the left until you get to Full Disk Access and tick the box next to the Origin application. Then scroll down a little further and select Files and Folders. Find The Sims 4 in the list of programs and make sure to tick the box next to "Documents Folder."
Good luck.
