Sims 4

I have been trying to play Sims 4, but every time I do, the game shuts down without saving. This happens when I try to travel from one lot to another. This most recent time, it happened because I was throwing my sims a birthday party and chose another lot to host it at. Please help; this is beyond frustrating.
