Sims not Starting

Hey I started playing sims around two years ago and I really thought I could fix most issues that occurred but rn I'm just at a loss I can't figure out what to do 

basically it all started when I got a new Mac ( the newest if its relevant ) and I hadn't tried to download sims until a day ago I got through origin and did the usual downloading process but when I opened the game basically it imeaditly fails it just says application not responding and after about 20 seconds it opens but a black screen and says ( and I quote )

origin is not running please make sure origin is running before attempting to play the sims 

and it really annoys me bc all I want to do is play and I can't and before anyone asks yes I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it ( same result ) Ive updated the game and repaired the game, I've looked up my issue online but I can't find anything to help me ( eg. google said to take out my mods folder and I did didn't work, I also emptied my mods folder and the same result ) I've tried everything I could think of but nothing if anyone has any further questions just ask ill be happy to provide more info ( if needed) 

I think my problem may be difficult to fix but I'm willing to put in the effort .
