Sims3 crashes in CAS after OS update

Hello, I've been having trouble with my Sims 3 game.  It crashes, freezes, and glitches whenever I am in CAS.  When I first got my game, which was ages ago, it worked perfectly fine on my computer, but ever since I've upgraded to El Capitan OS it doesn't seem to want to cooperate when I get to CAS.  I can maybe get one sim done (if I'm quick enough) before it crashes or freezes.  Sometimes it'll pre warn me that it's about to crash or freeze by glitching, but my sim is always ruined after that.  I honestly don't know what to do.  I have all the expansion packs plus one stuff pack and a few worlds downloaded from the sim store.  At first I thought maybe it wasn't enough memory, and I would clean the ram, but even doing that doesn't help.  In fact, the ram isn't even being fully used.  I checked.  If someone please please please help me that would be great.  Oh and I have an imac as well.  Thank you.

The game can only access 2Gb RAM which is why it needs to be purged, it doesn't matter how much memory is installed in your Mac.

A lot of gamers have had issues with Sims 3 since updating to El Capitan, myself included. I had to clear out all my store content then reinstall it and it worked. Try that and see if it helps. If not then try a completely clean game by moving out the whole Sims 3 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts onto your desktop and try playing again.

If it still isn't working then reapply the 1.67 patch. The link is in my signature below.
