But it's not a glitch, it's just the way the Dock works. You could move your Dock to the side of your desktop. Go into System Preferences > Dock and play around with the settings.

@Bluebellflora "If you play in full screen mode the Dock will not pop up when you move your cursor to the bottom of the screen.”
Well, it does. I have my Dock on the right side of the screen, and it pops up whenever I move my mouse to that edge of the screen while in fullscreen mode.

The Dock will sometimes pop up when I move the mouse to the bottom edge of the screen, and I only ever play in fullscreen mode.

Are you playing in proper fullscreen mode? When you do it should flick to a second desktop. It's very easy to confuse a game window filling the whole screen with actual fullscreen mode. Holding down CTRL, CMD and F will toggle between fullscreen and windowed mode. If you are in true fullscreen mode the Dock will not appear.
- 5 years ago@Bluebellflora It’s definitely in full screen mode—in its own Space—and definitely popping up the Dock whenever I mouse over to the right of my screen in Catalina.

Hmm. I did manage to get my Dock to appear twice during testing in Mojave and Catalina but it seems very intermittent whereas moving the cursor to the top of the screen always brings up the top menu bar.
I tend to play in windowed mode as I like being able to drag the game window to whatever size I prefer. That is an option available then you can move the window slightly over to the left so you don't go near the Dock.
