The Sims 3 Error Code 12

Hello, I play the Sims 3 on mac and every time I'm making more than one sim or take too much time on one sim I get error code 12 and my game crashes. I've noticed that many people can make many sims without this error. Is there any way I can prevent this from happening and actually spend some time in CAS? Replies appreciated.
