Yes, it is because you are using an external drive and happens after having previously removed the drive and plugged it back in. It can also happen if the drive is slow and doesn't have sufficient read/write speeds.
Thanks for the reply. So would the best solution be to uninstall and reinstall back on my regular applications folder? I also moved my game files to the external drive with a symbiotic link, so I guess I would have to undo that too?

If you can't keep the drive plugged in all the time, yes. It may be worth checking the speed of your drive as slower speeds can cause issues.

No, the symlink doesn't require verification. The verification message you're seeing is Gatekeeper checking the game installation is safe 🙂
