Why does the Sims 4 take up so much space?

I have a Macbook Air 2015 and the Sims 4 application takes up over 25 GB. It is more than any application and really cuts into my Mac's available space. I'm not talking about the folder in documents,...

Hi @k3rm1t123,

Size on your Applications folder depends on you base game + packs installed. 25GB for The Sims 4 is normal, the game has so many assets and with lots of packs installed the game is huge. You can't do anything to prevent this, if you want to play The Sims 4 with all your packs installed the game needs that space. You can always install the game on a external drive to free up some space on your internal drive.

Hi I have the same problem! If I install the game onto an external hard drive would i have to transfer my saves and/or my custom content and mods as well?

  Your Sims 4 folder which contains your saves/mods/tray etc. stays on your internal storage in Documents > Electronic Arts.
