won't let me download sims
ive got the ea app on my MacBook but every time I go to dowLOAD it it says error fail and I don't know what to do

Windows instructions are irrelevant for Mac. In macOS the App Recovery is in Help > App Recovery.

Do you have any antivirus running or any blocking apps on your Mac?Have you tried a different network or could you try hot spotting off your phone?
You might try to recover your EA app like this:
I tried this step of clearing cache under app recovery and it still won't work. It gets stuck at 8% and then the EA app closes.
