game packs not showing in game anymore
Hi, i brought/downloaded a couple packs and went to restart the game once downloading finished but for some reason all my downloaded packs have gone. its says on game that they are downloaded just needs to restart. I've tried restarting, uninstall/reinstall both sims4 and EA app, clearing cache, restarting and repairing but nothing is bringing my packs back. any ideas of how to fix this?horrendous black squares appearing beneath Sim
Hello, Whenever I want to put the Lighting on 'Medium/High/Very High', a black square flickers underneath my Sims when I have my cursor over them. (photo included), it is jarring and makes the game feel buggy. I bought my iMac in 2026, this should not be a problem with the computer being unable to do something, although it might be a MacOS and Sims compatibility problem. I have tried removing all of my mods, nothing, repairing the Sims 4, nothing, changing the SSAO in the .sgr, nothing. I have tried asking AI and it just tells me to do what I have already tried. I don't use a CC overlay, mostly just the base game and a few packs here and there.. The only thing that seems to work is using 'Laptop Mode ON', but I do not want to use Laptop Mode ON, the entire point of having a good computer is that I don't have to have the game look terrible. I figure either EA doesn't know about this problem, or Mac users are just giving in to the Laptop Mode. I don't know what to make of this. The Sims 4 does not launch on macOS Apple Silicon – silent exit, no error
I am reporting a persistent issue with The Sims 4 on macOS (Apple Silicon) where the game does not launch at all and exits silently with no error message, crash dialog, or visible log. System information Device: MacBook Pro (M1) macOS: 26.2 (25C56), updated to 26.3 (Tahoe) EA App: latest version The Sims 4: latest version Mods / CC: none (never installed) Expansion packs / DLC: none (base game only; clean, vanilla installation with no additional content) Problem description When launching The Sims 4 (via EA App or directly from the application bundle), nothing happens. No window opens, no error message appears, and no crash report is generated. The process starts and immediately exits. Troubleshooting steps already performed (in order) Basic / common steps Restarted the Mac multiple times Logged out and back into EA App Restarted EA App background services Cleared EA App cache (App Recovery) Ran EA App in offline mode Repaired The Sims 4 via EA App Fully uninstalled and reinstalled EA App and The Sims 4 Verified no mods or custom content are present Deleted all Sims 4 user data (removed Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4) Updated macOS from 26.2 to 26.3 macOS permissions, storage & security 11. Verified Privacy & Security settings 12. Ensured EA App and The Sims 4 have required file access 13. Ensured iCloud-stored game data is fully available locally (Keep Downloaded) 14. Removed quarantine attributes using xattr -cr 15. Verified code signing (codesign --verify --deep --strict, no errors) 16. Verified binary architecture (universal: arm64 + x86_64) 17. Tried launching with and without Rosetta Advanced / terminal diagnostics 18. Launched the game directly from the executable 19. Ran DYLD_PRINT_LIBRARIES=1 for diagnostics Output is always: Launch - 1 cp: logReader.html: No such file or directory The process exits immediately with no further output and no crash report. Current status The Sims 4 never reaches UI initialization No crash logs are generated The issue persists after macOS update and full reinstall The installation is a clean, vanilla base game (no mods, no DLC) The binary is valid and correctly signed This appears to be a macOS Apple Silicon–specific silent launch failure Request Please confirm whether this is a known issue with The Sims 4 on macOS 26.x (Apple Silicon), advise if there is a workaround or fix in progress, and escalate this as a compatibility issue if needed.SolvedUpdate Won't Load My Save Files
I've not opened my game since last week. Upon hearing the noise surrounding the marketplace release, I open my game to find NONE of my sims where accessible in the gallery. All my Save files have been located on my desktop, so why aren't I able to play my sims as normal?Mouse Shift/Drift problem
When playing The Sims 4 on my Mac, I encounter a specific problem in CAS mode. When trying to rotate the character or edit details—basically, in situations that require mouse movement—the mouse starts drifting on its own, regardless of whether I use a mouse or the trackpad. For example, when I'm trying to edit the nose details, I right-click and drag the mouse to the left, but it either moves in the opposite direction or resists the movement. It sometimes happens in both directions, but it occurs more frequently when moving left. I'm not using any CC or mods, and my computer settings are as follows... Help! Yesterday, my game went onto a load page and hasn't gone back. I'm not able to shut off the game, and I'm relatively new to Sims and using a Mac, so I'm not 100% sure on how everything works. I hope not to lose my progress on things. I've also recently had problems with Sims freezing, but time progressed, I ignored it as I thought it was my wifi or something. I cannot find the repair button in the EA app. Even pressing quit in the dock won't work. Please help :(My 'The Sims 4 Packs' Folder Is Missing
Hello! So, I was playing the sims as normal but I can't find my packs folder. I've looked everywhere and tried anything. I am also on a different device (I usually use a MacBook, now I'm on an iMac.) then what I usually play on. I have tried everything but I still cannot find it. Please help!sims 4 won't launch (Mac)
so I was just having my daily game Time, until I closed my game. And later that day when I tried to open/launch it it just wouldn't. moved away all my mods (even tho I didn't download anything) and even tried repairing like 5 times already. it won't open launch but says I "played " the game...(the counting minutes/hours number did not rise) haven't played since 23th. playing on Mac, haven't tried re-downloading the game cuz it takes like 2 days. does anybody have any tips or solutions I would be BEYOND grateful I have a about 3 weeks till I need to leave the country would like to play on the plane. ea app normally opens.Lost All Saves / Video Card Issue
First issue that happened was after going into EA like normal to open sims 4 I got the message that the game was already running (which it did not seem like it was) and then got a pop up with something like “do you want sims 4 to access a folder on this computer” (I can’t remember the exact wording) and I accidentally clicked no. After that, when opening sims I get the message “UNRECOGNIZED VIDEO CARD Your video card is not recognized in our database. We have optimized your graphics settings for improved performance.” Along with this message none of my saved games show up and the main home screen opens prompting me to create a household as if I've never played before. After searching around online I tried what I thought was a simple fix to rename the sims folder “sims_old” and reopen the game and then copy the saves folder from “old” over to the new sims folder that is created. When I did this weirdly the only game that loaded was one from 2018. I have no mods installed and I checked my I cloud storage to set it to not save my game to the cloud. Compared to any actual gamer I am not great with computers and this is really the only game I play so I wanted to get advice before I mess things up any further. I’m so mad at myself because I’ve spent over a year on the current house / family I have and don’t want to lose everything. Let me know if there is any additional information that I can provide to try and fix this, any help is very appreciated! Edit: I also have now made sure to allow The Sims 4 permission to access the Documents folder, still having the same issue of only seeing the very old saved game === Graphics device info === Number: 0 Name (driver): Intel HD Graphics 615 Name (database): [Found: 0, Supported: 1] Vendor: Intel Chipset: Vendor: 8086, Device: 591e, Board: 00000178, Chipset: 0002 Driver: Intel(R) HD Graphics 615, Version: 0.10.32.48 Driver version: 48 Monitor: 00000000 Texture memory: 1536MB Vertex program: 4.10 Pixel program: 4.10 Hardware TnL: 0 Opt. features: +sab +a8l8 -rgba16f +r32f -bc4 -bc5 -rawz -intz
