Sims 4 does not launch, just go back to EA App
I have an issue where The Sims 4 will not launch on my Mac. When I click Play in the EA App, the preparing game message appears, then after 1-2 minutes the app reopens and the game never starts. No error message. This started today. The game worked fine yesterday. I do not use mods and tested with a clean Sims 4 folder. The issue still happens. MacBook, macOS Tahoe 26, latest EA App. I tried reinstalling, clearing cache, repair the app, and give all the permissions, but nothing worked. I even did the thing of starting with a clean The Sims 4 folder (saving in another location the old one with my households) and it created. But still not launching. This seems like a broader issue, possibly from a recent update.Purchased Expansion Pack Not Appearing in Game – The Sims 4
Hello, I have an issue with The Sims 4. I purchased an expansion pack, but it doesn’t show up in the game. I have reinstalled it, updated the game, launched as administrator, but the cities from the expansion are still unavailable. Could you please advise what else I can try or what might be causing this? All my packs gone
Helloooo nothing else was working so im trying this. I had a bunch of packs installed, then I stopped playing for a bit, and I just recently reloaded and they're all gone. they're not showing up in my manage add ons or the marketplace collections thing, but they're in the dlc folder? i tried everything, restarting the app, doing the cache thing, deleting the user thing, but nothings working..plz help and tell me the hundreds of dollars i've spent in this game didn't just go in the trashThe Sims 4 DLC purchased via Steam not accessible on Mac
Hi everyone, I’m posting here regarding an issue with my DLC access in The Sims 4. I have purchased multiple expansion packs and additional content through Steam on Windows. My Steam account is properly linked with my EA App account, and synchronization between the accounts is active. On my MacBook, all DLC appear as owned both in the EA App and in-game. The content is visible, including the worlds, but everything is greyed out and labeled as “Available on Windows,” which prevents access and use. When I go to marketplace in the game , then my packs , I am able only to install the kits, the packages and etc. are staying in gray and are not to be clickt.. I have already gone through all standard steps such as reinstalling the game, repairing it, clearing cache files, and reconnecting my accounts. The behavior remains unchanged. At this point, I’m looking for clarification or guidance from anyone who has experienced a similar situation or has insight into how this can be resolved. Thanks in advance.Glitchy The Sims 4 Basic version on Mac
I used to play the Sims 2 and wanted to try the Sims 4 so I installed the basic version. I was thinking of buying extensions if I would like to play but... It crashed two times and I have lost a two days of progress. When it happened the first time, I was surprised because The Sims 2 has never been crashed. I noticed the issue is happening when my sim is going to another lot twice. Btw, I hadn't played for two weeks and when I tried to open the Sims 4, it didn't open, and there was no error at all. I noticed that The EA app also didn't work like it used to and this was the issue. When I reinstalled The EA app, it forced me to update the game and only after that I was able to finally play. Additionally, I want to mention that it's inappropriate to force me to update the app. Why I cannot just play and update it when I ready. It's annoying. Looks like the Sims 4 is not worth buying... nickname: i54ak55xyd3t. MacBook Pro 13-inch, M1, 2020Buggy mirrors in sims 4 on Mac!!

Hi, i brought/downloaded a couple packs and went to restart the game once downloading finished but for some reason all my downloaded packs have gone. its says on game that they are downloaded just needs to restart. I've tried restarting, uninstall/reinstall both sims4 and EA app, clearing cache, restarting and repairing but nothing is bringing my packs back. any ideas of how to fix this?horrendous black squares appearing beneath Sim
Hello, Whenever I want to put the Lighting on 'Medium/High/Very High', a black square flickers underneath my Sims when I have my cursor over them. (photo included), it is jarring and makes the game feel buggy. I bought my iMac in 2026, this should not be a problem with the computer being unable to do something, although it might be a MacOS and Sims compatibility problem. I have tried removing all of my mods, nothing, repairing the Sims 4, nothing, changing the SSAO in the .sgr, nothing. I have tried asking AI and it just tells me to do what I have already tried. I don't use a CC overlay, mostly just the base game and a few packs here and there.. The only thing that seems to work is using 'Laptop Mode ON', but I do not want to use Laptop Mode ON, the entire point of having a good computer is that I don't have to have the game look terrible. I figure either EA doesn't know about this problem, or Mac users are just giving in to the Laptop Mode. I don't know what to make of this. The Sims 4 does not launch on macOS Apple Silicon – silent exit, no error
I am reporting a persistent issue with The Sims 4 on macOS (Apple Silicon) where the game does not launch at all and exits silently with no error message, crash dialog, or visible log. System information Device: MacBook Pro (M1) macOS: 26.2 (25C56), updated to 26.3 (Tahoe) EA App: latest version The Sims 4: latest version Mods / CC: none (never installed) Expansion packs / DLC: none (base game only; clean, vanilla installation with no additional content) Problem description When launching The Sims 4 (via EA App or directly from the application bundle), nothing happens. No window opens, no error message appears, and no crash report is generated. The process starts and immediately exits. Troubleshooting steps already performed (in order) Basic / common steps Restarted the Mac multiple times Logged out and back into EA App Restarted EA App background services Cleared EA App cache (App Recovery) Ran EA App in offline mode Repaired The Sims 4 via EA App Fully uninstalled and reinstalled EA App and The Sims 4 Verified no mods or custom content are present Deleted all Sims 4 user data (removed Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4) Updated macOS from 26.2 to 26.3 macOS permissions, storage & security 11. Verified Privacy & Security settings 12. Ensured EA App and The Sims 4 have required file access 13. Ensured iCloud-stored game data is fully available locally (Keep Downloaded) 14. Removed quarantine attributes using xattr -cr 15. Verified code signing (codesign --verify --deep --strict, no errors) 16. Verified binary architecture (universal: arm64 + x86_64) 17. Tried launching with and without Rosetta Advanced / terminal diagnostics 18. Launched the game directly from the executable 19. Ran DYLD_PRINT_LIBRARIES=1 for diagnostics Output is always: Launch - 1 cp: logReader.html: No such file or directory The process exits immediately with no further output and no crash report. Current status The Sims 4 never reaches UI initialization No crash logs are generated The issue persists after macOS update and full reinstall The installation is a clean, vanilla base game (no mods, no DLC) The binary is valid and correctly signed This appears to be a macOS Apple Silicon–specific silent launch failure Request Please confirm whether this is a known issue with The Sims 4 on macOS 26.x (Apple Silicon), advise if there is a workaround or fix in progress, and escalate this as a compatibility issue if needed.SolvedUpdate Won't Load My Save Files
I've not opened my game since last week. Upon hearing the noise surrounding the marketplace release, I open my game to find NONE of my sims where accessible in the gallery. All my Save files have been located on my desktop, so why aren't I able to play my sims as normal?
