[WORKAROUND] 11.17.20 patch - game won't stop loading

I play on a Mac - My game did today’s update to fix the crashing and now it won’t load at all! Was waiting up to 10 mins and it was just stuck on the loading screen. I took off all my mods and still ...

    In the Origin app, right-click on the gear icon next to the Play button and select "Repair".

My game auto-downloaded the hot patch fix (1.68.156.1220) tonight, and now, the game won't load. I can open it, and I can select a save file, but it won't load the save file. Not only that, but the game can't be quit by clicking the red X or selecting quit from the dock-- I have to force quit it. The game is now completely unplayable.
