@Bluebellflora I managed to open the sims package contents, here's what I found.

@Bluebellflora I got the screenshot of the MacOS folder, however I am unable to click on the content inside. When I try to, the finder window closes.

Ok. Could you right click on that MacOS folder and click Move to Bin to trash it. Then load up Origin, right click on the game and select Repair. That should download a fresh folder. Now try and load the game. @Bluebellflora That repaired the file, and I am now able to access it. I tried to run it through terminal, however the same thing happened as if I were to open the sims via origin. I was able to open in in textedit and got the following screenshot

So you still can't launch the game through Origin or by double clicking the app in your Applications folder even after repairing? @Bluebellflora yes, I am still getting the videocard warning thing still popping up.

Ok. I think it may be a good idea to uninstall the game and start again, it sounds a bit of a mess ☹️
- Backup your Sims 4 folder
- Right click on the game in your Origin games library and select uninstall
- Run the Origin reset tool https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
- Launch Origin, log in and download the game
- Launch the game to check it works
- If it works move your old saves into the new saves folder - @Bluebellflora So I followed your instructions, and then updated my software, however the same notice pops up about the video card.
It was just a security update, I can't find the screenshot I took of it, sorry
I have been skimming other threads related to the video card, and after following one, I opened the Config log. It says it has identified graphics device, but found a problem. Will attach a screenshot. What does this mean?

Something is preventing your game from loading the proper version, it still wants to run the Legacy Edition. Is that config.log file in a folder called The Sims 4, or The Sims 4 Legacy Edition? Origin says that I haven't downloaded the legacy edition, but the folder in the Electronic Arts folder says Sims 4 Legacy Edition.

That folder is also showing that it can't properly sync with your iCloud Drive (the ! in the cloud icon). The issue maybe that your iCloud Drive is full, it looks that way from the update button in the top right too. Check your settings and if possible disable it completely. Then launch the game and hopefully a new Sims 4 folder will be created - https://bluebellflora.com/2017/02/06/sims-3-and-sims-4-not-loading-save-games/ So I followed what you said, but I'm having the same issue with the video card.

Ok. If the config log is showing the same details as before I'm really not sure what is going on. Let's tell your Mac to only use the dedicated AMD GPU - open System Preferences > Energy Saver and uncheck the top box to disable Automatic Graphics Switching.
