‘The sims 4 is already running, go ahead and start playing. It’s a good one.’

I keep receiving the same message every time I attempt to open the sims 4. ‘The sims 4 is already running , go ahead and start playing. It’s a good one.’ But the sims 4 is in fact not running … I’ve cleared task manager , I’ve cleared the cache , I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled EA , messed with the security settings literally every suggestion I could find I’ve tried … yes I restarted my computer between each step … I just want to play the game I payed for … I’ve been playing since 2016 and honestly never had problems like this with origin.

  • @Yazi021416  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

if this doesn't help, please try the other suggestions here:

If those don't help either, please let me know what antivirus you use.
