Since last night when trying to run my game it stops as soon as it gets to the opening screen, freezes then crashes. it gives me a pop up that says “Unable to start: Initialization error at start up. [135dec40:598068e4:00000078:37b26003]” I did some research and have allowed the app through my firewalls and even turned off windows defender, tried repairing and still no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have no CC or mods in the game.
bwaykaylee Are you sure you don't have a third-party antivirus running? Windows Defender's Controlled Folder Access sometimes triggers this error, but more often it's another program. And did you repair after disabling Defender? Sometimes that's required after disabling the antivirus causing the problem.
As a side note, I absolutely would not go without an antivirus at all. But it's fine to disable yours for testing as long as you don't do anything else at the same time, and turn it back on when you're done.
