after downloading sims on a hard drive why isn't my cc showing in game

I recently bought an external hard drive for my HP laptop because I ran out of space. I deleted TS4 and redownloaded it after changing the location of the download to my hard drive. IIt created the Electronic arts folder with the mods folder inside. I downloaded some cc and put it inside the folder, but when I launch the game it's not showing up.

  • @3r1n24  Sims 4 will always look for its user folder in Documents > Electronic Arts.  This is independent of the location of the game's program files.  If you'd like to move the user folder to an external drive, you'll need to create a symbolic link, as described here:

If you get an error that the system can't find the file path specified (or words to that effect), use the full file path instead of %USERPROFILE%.  That file path will likely be one of these:

    C:\Users\your username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

    C:\Users\your username\OneDrive\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
