all my progress is gone
Hi! so i loaded sims after a month of not playing and my gallery and all saves where gone. My packs where showed as "new content". The thing is all my saves are in my folder for saves (in one drive) as it should be. I am really confused. I would´ve been fine if my gallery was left untouched but everything i had saved there was gone too. I've tried getting the EA app instead of origin, then going back to origin again. Nothing is helping and the support does not know what the issue is. Can i do anything about this?
@Linneamillie You did this correctly. The first step here is to move the default location of Documents out of OneDrive and into C:\Users\Linne\Documents (or Dokument, if that's the folder already present). Here's how to do so:
After you've done so, run the command again to confirm that the file path has changed correctly. If it hasn't, stop here and let me know.
Once you've done that, restart your computer and see what folder Sims 4 is using, in the same way as before. It should now be reading C:\Users\Linne\Documents, but if it's not, stop here.
Make absolutely sure you have backups, in a safe location, of everything critical before you change any OneDrive settings. You can tell OneDrive to stop syncing the contents of Documents:
Or you can unlink OneDrive entirely:
It's up to you. Either way, you may need to pause syncing and/or cancel the current sync before OneDrive allows you to make other changes.

Finally, move the saves and Tray files you backed up into their respective folders within C:\Users\Linne\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4. Confirm that's the exact file path you're opening and that you're not still opening the OneDrive folder. To make sure you're opening the right folder, you can click This PC in a File Explorer window, double-click the C drive, and open Users > Linne etc. These files should now appear in-game.
