APPCRASH TS4

Hi All,

Hoping you can help me out with this.  I'm currently having an issue with crashes on TS4 while travelling/moving/saving (etc.).  I've had the game crash on me several times with a windows error popping up saying that the program has ceased working (please see details of the error below).

Problem Event Name:               APPCRASH

I've scrolled around this issue on threads a few times and have repaired the game, un-installed/re-installed, allowed access through both windows defender and my other protection software, changed the game to windowed mode, updated origin and the game, but still can't seem to fix it.  I don't think my PC is unsuitable to run it (though I may be wrong).  I'm on windows 7 home premium on a HP dv7 Notebook PC, Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8800 @2.6ghz and 2.67ghz on a 32bit operating system. There is 4.0GB RAM with 2.97GB usable.

I'm not particularly tech-savvy so if you could give me an answer to this issue, it would be greatly appreciated as it is driving me mad.  Thanks in advance!

Yes, that's an out of RAM crash. Happens a lot on 32 bit Operating systems as the game can only use 2 GB of RAM.

If you have the means, I would consider getting a new computer as your specs are generally on the low side.

If not, you probably need to start a new save game.

Thanks for the swift reply.  I haven't applied any mods or downloaded or added CC (I try to slim down any chances of crashing where possible).  Hopefully, I've attached the DxDiag correctly for you.

Since your're on a 32 bit OS it's probably a out of ram crash.

Could you attach your lastcrash.txt file ?

    you'll find it here: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\

  • Dang! I was afraid it would be something like that.  Thanks for your help!

  • Hello there,

Can you please check my lastcrash file. I have been experiencing crashing for 3 months and spoken to 7 advisers and still nothing resolved. I cannot even play TS4 for 10 minutes anymore.

    Thank you!
