Hello~ When I'm playing the game my audio will suddenly crash and won't come back unless I restart my computer. If I have youtube running in the background, when the audio crashes my sound will be ...
try reinstalling your audio drivers and if that doesn't work try reinstalling the game. if that doesn't work try reinstalling origin and open the game from origin or the Sims itself (the short-cut)
@snacksthecat Do you have the Nahimic Audio installed. If you do either disable it or uninstall it. I believe it is a mixer that is not playing nice. MSI or Micro Star International was always at the bargain end of the table. Several people have posted issues but MSI knows of no issues because nobody has reported issues. Well maybe if they answered their phones once and awhile. MSI products work and I believe this is an issue of third party software not working right.
Asus users have reported a similar problem although it doesn't seem to affect all users. Audio systems have long needed enhancement. I think this is a mixer that adds special affects like echo and fade. Apparently there seems to be some problems with the software (my guess). If you disable the mixer I believe the sound should continue to work. Or install the stock Windows sound driver (only stereo). Or get a sound card and disable the integrated sound chip. Most computer sound systems are 2.1 so for most users disabling this features should not change much. Newer MSI have reported similar issues. Usually audio drivers work and no one bothers to see if there are newer drivers. Check the manufacturers web site. If other games are crashing your computer there may be system problems.
Add: Windows 7 main support is over. Windows 7 is on extended support. Microsoft is giving (like in free) free upgrades to Windows 10 until July. Windows 10 is everything Windows 8 should have been. To advance to the next gen of graphics you'll have to go Windows 10 to get DX12. Unless you have a very good reason not to upgrade there is no reason not to. The upgrade process works pretty good. Windows 10 removes some features such as Media Center and there are some programs that get removed due to compatibility issues. I had a Vista computer and Vista is not in the upgrade plan so I had to do a fresh install of Windows 10 on those computers. So far the only problem I've had is getting the free upgrade to start on a few computers (had to manually start the process).
