AZERTY keyboard recognized as QWERTY

Hey guys,

Just reinstalled the game today, but of course I encountered an issue with the keybinds :

My computer is set with an azerty keyboard, I'm from France. Windows is all in english, same for Origin and Sims 4 : however for the game there is only the English US choice which I suspect might be the source of the problem. Sims 4 somehow recognize my keyboard as qwerty and not azerty. It’s literally the only game where I have this problem and I really don’t know how I can keep the english language and have the keyboard recognized as azerty. Also something to note, is that it's literally one of the first game in like twenty years of  PC gaming where you cannot edit keybinds in the game, I'm quite surprised.

It worked fine before in 2017 but now, nope.

Can anyone please lend me a hand ? :-(

Okay, so I managed to fix this stuff. If anyone ever comes here looking for a solution it's actually quite simple. Alt+Shift works BUT you can't do it while playing with your sims or in manage worlds mode. It has to be made while in the main menu of the game.

All the usual shortcuts works btw, CTRL+F etc.

Hello crinrict, thank you for taking the time to reply to my issue.
As for your question, yes I installed my Sims 4 game 3 times. First two times the installation went smoothly and the game ran on english and recognized my azerty keyboard. It’s only this time that the game acts like I’m on qwerty.

I’ll try to switch Origin to french to see if that may help but I don’t remember Origin being in French on my previous installs. I trully have no idea where the source of the problem might be, it’s weird tbh. I set my Windows in english but forced the computer to recognize my azerty keyboard, never had any issues until now.

And you're sure that the keyboard on Windows isn't switched ?

I'm more surprised that it worked at one point though as you can see from the reports, it seems to have always been an issue.
