Best laptop for the Sims 4? (UK, <£500)
Hi,
I’m looking for a new laptop and I want to choose one that can run the Sims 4 well. My current old one only just meets the minimum specifications and it doesn’t run that well, and there’s no space for any more packs.
Here’s what I’m looking for:
- definitely a laptop, I don’t have space for a desktop
- in the £300-500 range
- refurbished/second-hand is fine!
- The sims 4 is the only game I play
- but I do want to use the laptop for work - Microsoft Office, browsing the web, occasionally some photo editing
- I don’t care about the highest graphics settings, but I do want the game to run better
does anyone have any suggestions of laptops that might suit my needs?
I’ve had a look but the thing I really don’t understand is the graphics card requirements.
thank you!!
@strangebrooch The most important detail in determining how well a laptop will run Sims 4 is the graphics card or chip, and in your price range, this is actually a relatively simple matter. Dedicated cards only show up in more expensive machines, so your best options have fast integrated chips (integrated into the processor), capable of medium-high to high graphics settings. These should all run Sims 4 roughly the same, plus or minus a few percentage points depending on how the manufacturer tuned the machine:

The second one has the best screen of the group, although all of them are good enough. The last three are refurbished, but you said you didn't mind.
If you don't like any of these, let me know what details matter, and I'll have another look around. And if you have more questions in general, please feel free to ask.
