Can no longer save, manage worlds, or use build mode.

Ever since the new update and expansion pack my game will no longer save, nor can I open build mode, or manage worlds. This has only been in the last twenty-four hours. I have tried restarting the game, and repairing it incase there was anything wrong, and I have disabled all mods too. Can anyone please help.

@lucindapowell12 As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop; if the folder copies instead of moving, or you get an error when trying to move it, stop here and let me know.

Otherwise, when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and let me know what problems, if any, are still present.

im having this same problem now and im trying this, removing my current sims folder from electronic arts worked and solved the issue but what do i do now? can i just put my old folder back or how do i fix it?

@aceologyy You've established that the problem was something in your old Sims 4 folder. So no, you can't just put it back—that would put the problem file(s) back and leave you where you started. Instead, test your mods and custom content, if you have any, in batches, or use the 50/50 method if you have a lot of it:

Once you've sorted through that content, you can restore your saves and Tray files, but it's best to move over the individual files, not the folders they're in. You may also want to preserve Screenshots and Recorded Videos, but for the rest, it's better to use the new files and folders the game has generated rather than your old copies.
