Can the Sims 4 origin download be played offline?

I just purchased a new laptop that doesn't have a cd player. I really enjoy playing my sims however I am not always around wifi/internet connection. I was wondering if I purchased the sims and downloaded it to my origin will I be able to play it offline. If not what's another route I can take?

Yes. Sims 4 can be played offline.

Can you please explain to me what the process/and or how are you able to play it offline. Everytime I launch the free version it says it can not be played offline. Someone told me to put origin in auto-login mode and sims in offline mode. However, I was unable to find the offline mode box for origin. If you have a different method please explain thanks.
