Can these laptops run sims 4 full version with all the dlc, with high settings?

The laptops are listed in the second post, somehow i can't delete this post
  • @luciebellee  I would say the new one is a little better, but probably not $100 better.  Its graphics card is faster, although they're in the same category.  The hard drive is slower, at least if we're talking about the laptop with a 560X and a 256 GB SSD.  Whether you want slightly higher graphics settings or much shorter loading is more about personal preference than anything else.

    A 256 GB hard drive is more than enough for Sims 4, all packs, a giant pile of mods and custom content, and whatever other apps like browsers you'd want installed.  The game and all its packs together take up about 50 GB, the most cc I've ever heard someone say they had is about 80 GB (which is more than I could ever imagine using), and you'd want to set aside another 50 GB for Windows itself and the space it needs to maneuver.  So, given that hard drives aren't quite as large as they claim, you'd still have about 40-45 GB left over even if you went totally overboard on custom content.  Apps like browsers and music players are quite small; it's only when you start storing data that you need more space.

    If you'd like other options, let me know, but either of these would be fine.

  • Exactly like the title says, the laptops are:

    Laptop 1:
    -Processor Onboard : Intel® Core™ i5-10210U Processor (6M Cache, up to 4.10 GHz)
    -Memory : 8 GB DDR4
    -Video Card : nVidia GeForce® MX250 2GB GDDR5
    -Hard Disk : 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD

    Laptop 2:
    ~ Processor: AMD Ryzen-5 R5-3550H ( 2.1 Ghz - 3.7 GHz, 4MB L3 Cache )
    ~ Memory: 8GB DDR4 RAM
    ~ 256GB SSD
    ~ Video card: AMD Radeon™ RX 560X , with 4GB, VRAM
    ~ 15.6" Full-HD display ( 1920 x 1080 ), SLIM-BEZEL

    the second laptop is about $100 cheaper, any help would be appreciated

  • @luciebellee  The first one is better than the second: its graphics card is significantly faster, which is the most important detail.  A 560X can run Sims 4 on either ultra or a mix of high and ultra settings; an MX250 would handle medium-high settings, but probably not better if you had most or all expansions installed.  It would be nice to have a solid state drive, for faster loading of everything from Windows to apps, but it's not strictly necessary.

    Edit:  I merged your posts, since you mention a third laptop.  If this computer is only for Sims 4 and light tasks, then 256 GB is probably enough storage, but it probably wouldn't be if you planned on installing other large apps or a collection of photos or music or something.  If you're not going to do this, the laptop with the 256 GB SSD would be the best option, but make sure it's enough storage for what you'd like to do.

    If you'd like to see other options as well, just post your budget and country, as well as any other considerations that matter to you.

    Hey thank you so much for the quick reply, i added a third laptop because turned out the first laptop in my first post is sold out, i thought i had deleted the first one but its still there. Sorry for this. The only game i plan to play on this laptop is only sims 4, So will the third laptop with 256 gb ssd be able to run sims 4 with all the dlc smoothly with high settings? Its the cheapest one so if it can id cop that. Thanks!

    edit: i found another laptop im considering to buy and the specs are:

    Processor : 9th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-9300H
    * Operating System : Windows 10 Home 64
    * Display Type : 15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS, anti-glare, 250 nits
    * Memory : 8 GB DDR4 2400MHz
    * Hard Drive : 1TB
    * Graphics : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 3GB
    * Camera : 720p HD
    * Keyboard : Backlit Keyboard - US English
    * Wireless : 802.11 AC (2 x 2) & Bluetooth® 4.2

    Is this better? Thank you

    Thank you so much for your answers, ive decided to buy the laptop with:

     - Processor AMD Ryzen 5 3550H Processor
    - Operating System Windows 10 Home
    - Memory 8GB DDR4
    - Storage 512GB SSD
    - Graphic nVidia GTX1650 , with 4GB, VRAM

    Because with 512 gb sd card I'll be safe if i ever want to download another game. With this laptop the sims 4 will run smoothly too right? Sorry i ask so much im a noob at this

    @luciebellee  You don't ask too many questions, especially given the kind of purchase you're looking to make.  This laptop is clearly better than the others, primarily because its graphics card is significantly faster, maybe 40-50% in gaming (though the gap is probably somewhat smaller in Sims 4).  So any games you'd like to play, Sims 4 or otherwise, will benefit.  An Nvidia 1650 should have no problem running Sims 4 on ultra settings, and it can handle much more demanding games on medium or high settings as well.

    The 512 GB SSD is also more than enough space for several large games.  I don't know what you might want to play, but even several more ~60 GB games would fit comfortably alongside Sims 4.
