Can you play offline?

I am trying to get in contact with someone from EA.  I have been unable to locate a "contact EA or support" option on the site.  I pre-ordered the game and received it a few days after launch dew to shipping issues.  I have played it and disliked it.  I wanted to give it to my friend so that she could get some use out of it and I will continue playing Sims3.  

(I do not appreciate my Sim dying from embarrassment)  I hate the limits that this game has implemented, now that we have had all these issues downloading the game to her computer and finding out you can't even play it unless connected to the Internet.  She comes to my house to download her games because she does not have Internet at her house.  It told her the product code had already been used, which I understand.  We then tried to use my origin on her computer, which worked but when I tried to load the game not logged in on my computer it told me I had to be logged in.  With her not having Internet it is not an option.  I will not be playing this game ever, so I had been hoping to trade it off.  

I am very disappointed with the Sims4.  I have come to expect a certain amount of control over my sims and I no longer have that freedom.  The open world in Sims3 was the best thing possible.  I can have one or more sims at a friend's house while still controlling the sims left at home without having to disrupt any game play by loading screens with no guarantee that the actions I told them to do while I switched players were being performed to my satisfaction.  

This has a lot to do with the Sims being my control outlet, I am a control freak who cannot control things in her outside life so she controls the Sims.  I hope you have been getting similar feedback and will make some changes.

P.S. Not happy that you went back to the baby in a basket.  The freedom that was once provided to the aging and development of children as well as relationships is upsetting.
