Cannot play Sims 4 after unlinking from STEAM
I purchased Sims 4 via Steam and linked Steam to my origin account. I unlinked STEAM from the EA app as it blocks Steam from being used while EA is open. Even though STEAM is no longer linked to my EA account it will not let me play Sims 4. I am logging into the EA app directly with my email address. I want to download the Sims 4 directly from the EA app. I know all my save data will be lost and that is fine. But I want to have it independently from STEAM. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app as well as uninstalling the Sims 4 from my computer. I was told by chat support that this was a glitch and that I needed to post here to get this fixed.
@syrupe94 Please clear the EA App's cache—these files don't necessarily get removed during the uninstall process—and restart your computer afterwards.

If that doesn't help, try adding the free holiday pack to your EA account. For some players at least, this also adds the EA App version of the base game.
If that doesn't help either, you'll need to contact EA customer support and ask that the Steam version of Sims 4 be removed from your account. I'd strongly suggest choosing live chat rather than email, since you'll get a faster and likely more helpful response. If you don't see the option for live chat, change the location in your browser window to U.S. or U.K., or choose a slightly different category of issue.
