@Jin_Karen First of all I want to correct the impression you own the game - you do not OWN the game. What you paid for is a license to use the software under the terms of the EULA that you agreed during the installation (or the first time you played the game). Basically that give EA that right to control how you play the game. In 2009 EA had DRM that was SecuROM and SafeDisc. This kind of worked until Windows 10 and El Capitan was released. Windows 10 and El Capitan do not support SecuROM or SafeDisc. This was fine by me as SecuROM was considered a rootkit and had an install limit. Now the DRM is controlled by Origin. Without SafeDisc you don't need a disc to play. Second there are so many open wifi hot spot's, internet access on the go is not hard to find today (unless your the Flintstones and live in a cave). Most cell carrier's allow using your smart phone internet with your laptop. My Galaxy 5 even has a hot spot feature. I work construction and used to tether my laptop all the time. Have you called your ISP? I have commercial service from the cable company and I have terms of service. When I call the cable company about loss of internet I have a service person out in about 3 hours. Something about loss of service in the terms of service (I tell them the next call I make will be to my attorney). There is a way to go off line but I have never had to use it. Actually the game requirements state internet connection required. And acceptance of the EULAs is also required. Software licensing has been in effect for a long time now but like assembly instructions no one ever reads them (can you tell me what page 2 of your auto insurance says without trying to find the policy you never read). They are seldom referred to unless there is gross violations (primarily in terms of piracy). Steam works for Valve and Origin works much the same for EA. I wish things were like they used to be like answering questions to play Leisure Suit Larry in the land of the Lounge Lizards but alas times have changed.

hello roberta591! thanks for replying in this short time.
i understand what youre saying.
i dont actually live in north america or anywhere attached to the continent. im from asia. and i am currently in asia.
it was midnight when all this happened, meaning the lost of connections. i still did managed to call our internet service after losing the connection. and got a professional checked our cords and the data modem (..?) in the next morning (this morning, if more specific). and the internet was fine after like 9 am here. anyways the internet went back again approximately 8~9 hrs after what happened.
i have a PC. no laptop. i wouldve done what you said if i play it with a laptop but sadly i dont. ive tried other ways. really.
except inventing a adapter for PC to connect to the hot spot of smartphones. lol.
and i apologize for sounding like I OWN the game. but i wasnt meaning that. i shouldve say i own THE COPY of the game. and i do understand that.
and also your information did had me learn something about whats between EA and Origin. or Steam and Valve.
but i dont know i still think its unnecessary to have to connect to the internet just to log in the first time of that time of playing.
or am i just being a hater here. never mind. thanks again!
