Cant click anything and firefox stopped working

I ordered the online game code option of Sims 4 on Amazon, downloaded everything and went to play, from the get-go I could only click on things using my laptops touch screen and not with the track pad and mouse. I tried restarting the computer, looking up solutions to no avail. On top of that firefox stopped working, wouldn't even load, after much frustration and trying to solve this problem I just uninstalled sims and origin and restarted my computer and firefox miraculously was fine again. There's no refund option for online game code so I guess im stuck with a game that doesn't work properly. Side note: I have a PC running windows 10.

    Good evening @AccioAbby90 ,

    Do you happen to have any details on the type of laptop you are using? With the amount of input issues you mentioned, it's making me think that the laptop isn't being fully recognized, especially with both input devices (Mouse & Keyboard) not working. 

    Windows 10 is compatible with Sims 4; I know there was some recent mentions about optional security downloads that have affected graphical performance in desktop games, but this sounds less like a graphical issue and more of a performance/input issue.

    I'm not sure what's going on with Firefox in that matter; normally the game doesn't do anything with the Firefox browser, so I'm not sure how it's related. Were other internet browsers working during this?

    I tried it on my old laptop that still runs on XP and it works fine. I’ll just have to play on there. Thank you.
