can't download or access previously owned content

hii. I have a problem with the sims 4 on my pc (windows). I downloaded jungle adventure (and the whole bundle) via epic games when it was free but then I uninstalled the game due to non-related issues. now I re installed the sims but I can't access the packs, is there any way I can get them again? when I open the epic games app it says I have the packs but doesn't show them when I run the game. when I open the EA app or steam it says I don't own the packs.

  • @aauurii01  Can you use the Epic launcher to download the packs without also installing the base game?  This works with the EA App, but the setup with Epic is not exactly the same.

Please also confirm that your Epic and EA accounts are still properly linked.  Go to any EA site, in a private browser window if necessary to avoid being automatically signed in, and try to sign in with your Epic credentials.  If you land in the correct EA account, great.  If not, let me know; this means there's a problem with the link between the accounts, whether you load the wrong account or just get an error.

I'm not sure I understood what you mean. when I open the epic game app I can see the sims and I can launch it, I don't know how to uninstall it without also uninstalling it from steam. I don't know if it is relevant but on epic games it sais that I have played the sims 17 hours, on steam it sais way more time.

Also, I checked and the epic games account, the steam account and the ea account are connected.

@aauurii01  If you uninstall Sims 4 through Epic, it shouldn't uninstall the Steam version at the same time.  So please try that, then see whether you can download only the packs you own in Epic without also downloading another copy of the base game.

it looks like I can't uninstall the game from epic games (see the picture). the only options that it shows are go to the store page, add to favourites, add to playlist and thow long I've played

@aauurii01  Okay, then it's possible you don't have the game installed through Epic at all, just the ability to launch your EA App install through Epic.

Under Add-ons in your screenshot, do you have the option to download your missing packs, or do they already show as installed?

Additionally, do you own any content through Steam, or just the base game?

Hello, this exact problem is happening to me. I also had content with epic that I once had played with and now it’s not available. I just got the new expansion with them with my epic rewards but can’t get it to work. It says I own it in the game but it’s not downloaded. I uninstalled and reinstalled epic launcher and uninstalled sims on Steam. In the epic, if I download sims it will only show epic content. If I download on Steam too, then the game won’t run. If I only install on Steam, epic picks up it’s there and shows installed but doesn’t download the dlc.

when I go to the dlc page in the shop it only says in library and I don’t have the usual options like I do for other games in the epic library. I’m so lost 😞

I figured it out! Leaving what worked in case this happened to anyone else. To download the content purchased from Epic when using another platform like Steam, you need to go into the EA app (not the website or game interface). Locate the sims 4 game then select manage add ons. You will be able to download your content there.
