Can't drag anything into garbage or sink

i just updated my game with the july 1st update and as i'm playing now i can't drag anything into the garbage cans or sinks. i tried deleting and replacing them, i tried multiple cans and sinks, i tried removing the bathroom/kitchen label from the sinks. nothing. its all garbage and dishes, everything that used to be able to be dragged into the bins and sinks.
