Cant find my sims 4 folder

I have had my sims 4 game now for about a year now.  I have been playing on it regularly and have really had no problems with it at all (other than the occasional crash) and have several saves. Its only recently that I have gotten brave enough to try and install a mod to my game. Went to the website, pushed download and followed the instructions for said mod (its in my download folder right now). It was then that I ran into my problem. I can not find my sims 4 folder. My sims 3 folder is there and Origin is downloaded but no where can I find my sims folder.  Do I need to uninstall my game if I want mods and CC? and When I get my new computer (my husband is building one for me) will I lose all my saves?

I know that my sims 4 folder should be in the same place as my sims 3 and it is not there. I just need to know what I can do or if I'll forever be stuck in vanilla sims 4 game plays which I can live with (although I really want story progression >,<).

Normally it is located here: \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

You can take a backup of your Saves folder and copy it to the new computer when you get one.

  • Just like Jpkarlsen mentioned. Your Sims 4 folder should be in the C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\

However, if it's not there's a couple reasons for this.

    1. Maybe you did a factory reset of Sims 4 and need to play Sims 4, so that the game recreates the folder.

    2. It has been moved for some odd reason. (I've had this happen after an update.)

To find where the folder went, search your computer for Sims 4. - Click Start and in the Search bar, search for Sims 4.

The computer should give you some results of where to find your folder. Then you can move it back to the Documents\Electronic Arts folder. - To move the folder, right-click on Sims 4, select Cut, and Paste it back into the Electronic Arts folder.

After your Sims 4 folder is back where it needs to be, the game should recognize it along with your Saves folder and all the rest of the Sims 4 files and folders, and you can install the Mods into the mods folder from there.
