@crinrict I think I came across something that suggested that my antivirus may have repeatedly blocked something in a short time span. This may have been repeated attempts to finish downloading a "suspicious" update from Sims 4 (which it may have mistaken for an actual threat).
@Springerle Put Sims on your save list for where it blocked + for the ransomware protection and see if the issues resolve itself.
