Hi so when i try to play my sims 4, the main loading screen goes white and the bar above will minimise itself. Now i have deleted some of the cache files, and also uninstalled and reinstalled origin, i have also went into origin to repair and update the sims 4, but to no avail everytime when i do this, and i try to load the sims 4, it will just go back to being the white screen and the bar minimzing itself.I really dont know what else to do here.Someone please help xx
Ok, so i installed the driver, laptop restarted and then updated and repaired sims 4 but now its back to the white screen and minimizing bar.
@erinlive Do you still have Origin in-game disabled? Please double-check, to make sure, and disable it if necessary.
If that doesn't help, please move your entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop (again), also just to be thorough.
If these steps don't help, please force the game to launch in windowed mode. Open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties > Advanced Launch Options, add a -w (with the hyphen) to the command line box, and save.
Ok sorry can now reply on here, i have done everything that you have said to do, but im having a issues where every time im on origin it will autiomaclly start redownloading the sims 4 games in the download manager section and everytime im clocking on the sims 4, it is still giving me the options of update or game repair etc. Now i have unstalled and reinstalled origin so many times, im wondering is it worth it unstalling sims 4 and reinstalling it?
@erinlive I somehow missed your reply earlier; sorry about that. When Origin keeps redownloading a game, the issue is usually Origin's cache, and occasionally an issue with the game files themselves. If you uninstalled Origin the normal way, try clearing its cache (again), then repairing or updating, or both, Sims 4 one more time.
If that doesn't help, please disable your antivirus, at least temporarily. It may be interfering with the game files—I've even seen Avast outright delete, or perhaps prevent from downloading, TS4_x64.exe, which of course would need to be present for the game to open at all.
sorry about not getting back to you, have been working so haven't had much of a chance to try and delete the cache files as of yet, sorry to be a pain but could you explain how to disable the antivirus at all? Thank you.
@erinlive How to disable your antivirus depends on the program you're using. They should all have available instructions in the support sections of their websites, although it's not always easy to find the info. Alternately, if you have one of the programs listed at the bottom of the first post in this thread:
you can follow the instructions to disable the specific features that have been blocking Sims 4.
