Can't open game after new patch

After the new patch, I cannot open my game. It loads and tells me that in order to complete the patch I need to restart my game. However, due to the fact that the patch is in progress, I cannot open the game. I cannot cancel the patch and start the game, because the game only plays if it is up to date. I have restarted origin and my computer and I have tried to run the game as administrator but so far nothing has worked.
